Business verification

What documents do I need to onboard my business?

You'll need to provide your business registration documents, valid identification for the relevant directors and beneficial owners, and any other information required during onboarding.

The exact requirements depend on where your business is registered:

  • Nigeria: CAC certificate and status report
  • United Kingdom: Companies House registration
  • Canada: Articles of incorporation or business registration
  • Kenya: Certificate of Incorporation

You will also be asked to provide proof of business address and a brief description of your business activities.

Who needs to be verified?

We verify the business, its directors, and its beneficial owners. Beneficial owners who hold 25% or more of the business will need to provide the required identification and address documents.

My business is a registered business name, not a limited company. Can I apply?

Yes. A registered business name can apply as a sole trader, subject to our eligibility requirements.

You'll need to provide your business registration certificate and the required identification for the business owner. A memorandum and articles of association are not required for registered business names.

How long does business verification take?

Most business applications are reviewed within 3–5 business days once we have received all the required information and documents.

Some applications may require additional compliance checks, which can take longer depending on what needs to be reviewed.

If we need additional information, we'll contact you by email. Responding to the same email thread can help keep your application moving.
