Foren is FCA authorised in the UK, and FINTRAC registered in Canada.

FCA Authorised (UK)

Your money is held in a safeguarded account, separate from Foren's own funds. It isn't lent out, and it isn't collateral.

FINTRAC Registered (Canada)

Every transfer is screened against anti-money-laundering rules, so the money moving through Foren is clean, traceable, and above board, including yours.

ISO 27001 and PCI DSS

We go through outside audits every year. ISO 27001 covers how we manage information security; PCI DSS governs how card data is handled.

Safeguarded and separate

Funds held in your FOREN account are safeguarded in accordance with the Electronic Money Regulations 2011. Your money is held separately from FOREN's operational funds and is not used for any other purpose. FOREN's infrastructure is built on Mastercard, Visa, ClearBank, Zenus Bank, Interac, and Stripe. These are not affiliations. They are the rails your money moves on.

Foren Business FAQs

Who can open a Foren Business account?

Foren currently onboards sole traders, limited companies and payment service providers (PSPs) registered or operating in the United Kingdom, Canada and Nigeria, subject to our eligibility and verification requirements.

Your business must have been operating for at least six months to be eligible.

Are there businesses or industries that Foren does not support?

Yes. Certain businesses and industries are not eligible for a Foren Business account. If you are unsure whether your business is eligible, contact our support team at help@foren.co before applying.

How do I start onboarding my business?

Sign up through http://app.foren.co/ and follow the prompts to register your business and complete the onboarding process.

Can I open a business account if I already have a personal Foren account?

Yes. You can have both a personal and a business account, provided you meet the requirements for each account.

Your personal and business accounts remain separate.

Can I open an account if my business is less than six months old?

Your business will generally need at least six months of operating history to be eligible for a Foren Business account. However, exceptions may apply based on your business type and circumstances.

If your business is less than six months old, you may still apply, and our team will assess your eligibility during the onboarding process.

What documents do I need to onboard my business?

You'll need to provide your business registration documents, valid identification for the relevant directors and beneficial owners, and any other information required during onboarding.

The exact requirements depend on where your business is registered:

  • Nigeria: CAC certificate and status report
  • United Kingdom: Companies House registration
  • Canada: Articles of incorporation or business registration
  • Kenya: Certificate of Incorporation

You will also be asked to provide proof of business address and a brief description of your business activities.

Who needs to be verified?

We verify the business, its directors, and its beneficial owners. Beneficial owners who hold 25% or more of the business will need to provide the required identification and address documents.
