How do I open a Foren account?

Download the Foren app on iOS or Android and sign up using your email address and phone number. You'll then be asked to verify your identity and provide the information and documents required for your country.

The app will guide you through each step and show you exactly what you need to provide.

Who can open a Foren account?

Foren currently supports individual customers who are resident in the United Kingdom, Canada, Nigeria, and Kenya, subject to applicable eligibility and verification requirements.

Can I have both a personal and business account?

Yes. You can have a personal account and a separate business account, provided you meet the requirements for each.

Can I pause my application and come back later?

Yes. Your progress is saved, so you can return to your application and continue where you left off.

What identity documents do I need?

You'll need a valid photo ID and a live selfie to verify your identity. Depending on your country and the account or currency you're applying for, we may also ask for proof of address or additional information.

Accepted photo IDs are an international passport or driving licence.

The app will show the exact requirements that apply to you before you begin.

What additional information is required in each country?

The requirements vary by country:

United Kingdom and Canada

You'll generally need a valid photo ID. No additional national identification number is required based on the current onboarding requirements.

Nigeria

You'll need your Bank Verification Number (BVN) and National Identification Number (NIN) in addition to the required identity information.

Kenya

You'll need your KRA PIN as part of the verification process.

Additional documents may be requested depending on your account or currency requirements.

What happens if my BVN or NIN won't verify?

If you're in Nigeria, check that the name and date of birth on your Foren profile exactly match the details registered against your BVN or NIN.

If the details match and verification still fails, contact us with a screenshot of the error, and we'll help you investigate.
